Are There Errors in Hindu Scriptures?

Question: As salamu alaikum. I am interested in comparative religious study. I had a dialogue with my Hindu friend and I told him that there are no errors or contradictions in the Quran. He said Bhagavad Gita too has no errors. I want to know the scientific errors or contradictions in Hindu scriptures like Vedas and especially in Bhagavad Gita. I posed this question to many but I didn't get any reply so far. Hope I will get an answer from you. May Allah reward you all scholars for striving to spread Islam.

Islam in Hinduism Qur'an 103: 01-03 By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), Most surely man is in loss Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy. The Brahma Sutra of Hinduism is: "Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan" (Sanskrit transliteration) "There is only one God, not the second; not at all, not at all, not in the least bit." Foreword: If you have reached this part of my web page, chances are, you have a quest to learn and this section is basically meant for scholarly purposes. We don't mean to demean or discredit any religious thoughts and would appreciate any constructive criticism and opinions and I promise to incorporate them into this article.    Hailing from the Indian subcontinent, I often pondered and was asked by a few of my Hindu colleagues, "If according to Islam, messengers or prophets were sent as a prophet to each and every nation of the world, then which ones were sent to Indian subcontinent? Can we consider major deities of Hinduism, the Rama and Krishna to be apostles of God and will Muslims respect them as much as they respect their own who are mentioned in Quran?". I didn't have any satisfactory answer to this, then. As far as I knew, Qur'an does mention about the prophets sent to Jews( Moses) and Christians (Jesus) and finally to Pagans of Arabia in particular and the whole mankind in general (Muhammad-*saw*) but it doesn't mention anything about this part of the world, i.e., Hindus. Although, Holy Quran does state: ". . . And there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past)." [Al-Qur’an 35:24] A similar message is repeated in Surah Rad, chapter 13 verse 7 ". . . and to every people a guide."        [Al-Qur’an 13:7] Allah (swt) also says in Surah Nisa, chapter 4 verse 164: "Of some messengers We have already told you the story; of others we have not." [Al-Qur’an 4:164]

A similar message is repeated in Surah Ghafir chapter 40 verse 78:  "We did aforetime send messengers before you: of them there are some whose story We have related to you, and some whose story We have not related to you. . ." [Al’Qur’an 40:78]

Also, The Glorious Qur’an mentions in Surah Rad, chapter 13 verse 38 "For each period is a book (revealed)." [Al-Qur’an 13:38]

What to Hindu Scholars say about Islam?

    
Recently, we have seen false accusations made against Islam and Muslims in India and Kashmir. I would like to suggest everyone ignore these hate mongrels who will go to any length to cause dissention and animosity between Muslims and Non-Muslims. Let's look at what some well respected Indians had to say about Islam, Muslim, and their prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him):

The Vedas and Puranas are the literal word of God, which He revealed to his chosen people called Aryas through sages and through Incarnations. It were written down as God went on to speak. From the day these scriptures were revealed, until this day, there has always been a huge number of Aryas and Dasuyas who have memorized all of the Vedas and Puran, letter by letter. Some of them have even been able to memorize all of the scriptures by the age of ten. Not one letter of theses scriptures has been changed over the centuries. Arays hold the oldest literature that is unchanged till date. Moguls tried, British tried but in vain.

Vedas and Puranas, which were revealed second time 6,000 years ago centuries ago, mentioned facts only recently discovered or proven by scientists.

Concept of God in Hinduism

Let us examine the concept of God in these two major religions in light of their respective scriptures and study if there are similarities.

COMMON CONCEPT OF GOD IN HINDUISM :

If you ask some lay persons who are Hindus that how many gods do they believe in, some may say three, some may say thirty-three, some may say a thousand, while some may say thirty-three crores i.e. 330 million. But if you ask this question to a learned Hindu who is well versed with the Hindu Scriptures, he will reply that the Hindus should actually believe and worship only one God.

Definition of Islam

Islam is an Arabic word, which comes from the word ‘Salm’ which means peace and from 'Silm', which means submitting your will to Allah – the Almighty God. In short Islam means peace acquired by submitting your will to Allah (swt).

The word Islam is mentioned in several places in the Qur’an and the Hadith including Surah Ali Imran, chapter 3, verse 19 and verse 85.
